How were they delicate?
In my experience, very timid fish...they wouldn't compete for food or defend themselves...they were with various panfish species and some largemouth bass...and Oscars...every other species established themselves and turf...the crappie would literally get bullied by everyone even pleco and green sunfish that were tiny...in my goldfish puddle they turtles and catfish immediately dispose of them

Black crappie get a hell of a lot bigger than jags ever will, I've seen captive crappie break the 24 inch mark (and wild ones have broken 37 in the wild).

Crappie are not fighters like jags, but are in my opinion much cooler, great for a koi pond

This is a one in a million

Your greatly exaggerating they're size. 37" is pure bs sorry man...hell 24" is bs. I've had ponds with them and I live in crappie heaven. I've seen them in at the chattanooga aquarium. No way no how.

Male jags will push 17" easily in an aquarium with proper care in a 125. I've seen one caught in Florida that was 19" on the tape.

Looks wise I think the jags is more colorful especially a Honduran.

Jags are also more personable. I had one for a little bit but there's plenty in tanks down here I've seen. Not even compstable.

Now if you're wanting a close looks wise native then yeah it'll work.

Yeah there's no crappie I have ever seen even approach those kind of sizes. Normally they average 10"-14" with a 15" being a really nice one. Biggest I have caught was 17" which was a monster. Biggest I have ever heard was 18" or 19" can't remember which it was.

The guy in the pic is pulling the ol' fisherman trick of holding the fish with arms extended so the fish is closer to the camera and away from his body. You can tell by how huge his fingers look in the pic. Compare his finger to his nose, finger looks wider than his nose lol. Always cracks me up when I see guys do that on the fishing website I run because everyone knows that trick :)

You must have a special ruler to measure your penis and fish if you’re measuring crappie at 24” as most of the record fish are like 14-15ish range...

Yet the person lying through their teeth about 30” crappie is beneficial to this thread? Man MFK has change a lot through the years

Maybe they were mistaken or maybe they saw the worlds largest crappie. Where do you get the time to have beef with people on an internet forum about fish?
