Just have a couple questions, ive had this guy for about a year and a half, but hes only grown about 3-4 inches. His tank mates were the same size and now dwarf him. So are jags slow growers or maybe hes a runt? Also wondering the sex if thats possible to tell at this size. Thanks.

Look like a girl to me :) (other might have a different view)
With my experienced the male growth alot faster and bigger, i bought one years ago around 3 inches and after a year it's over 10 inches, I hope that help.

IME, Jags have always grown pretty fast, unless they are very low in the tanks pecking order. I've noticed with my jags that if they don't have any dominance they grow slow...provided adequate water changes and food isn't a factor. Sex is easier to tell if you can get a full side view of the fish.

So I got some more pics, he is definitely low on the pecking order in my tank but I never really have any fighting. He almost never leaves this hole in my driftwood and wont go to far from it to grab a pellet.

Those pics aren't really much better lol. Can you get some clear side pics? Pattern and side profile would be really helpful. Just ask the fish to pose.

female IMHO, for them takes a couple years to get to be approaching 8" , my female wild caught is little over 2 years and is now about 7"

male is about 8 months younger and is now approaching 11" . he was smaller when i got him than the female.

on a side note she looking a bit stressed and worse for ware. this will also effect growing.
