I maybe wrong but I would think a Jag would do good in a 90. http://www.aquariacentral.com/fishinfo/fresh/jaguar.htm This website said 60 but I would think that is to small. I also just read the same thing terd ferguson just said. If you want a nice cichlid in that 90 try a Red devil or Midas I think you would like them

The profile in that link is mostly jibber jabber. Do not use that profile as accurate info on jags. A 90g will be just wide enough for a full grown male, but not nearly long enough for proper swimming. 6'x18" is the minimum footprint I'd want for a proper home for a male jag, and 6'x2' would be better. A full grown adult male jag has the potential to reach over 15" with proper care.

You can grow a jag out in a 90 but eventually you will need at least a 180g.

Kewl guys,

They are all nice choices. Grammodes are especially nice.

Someone else also privately recommended a Haitian Cichlid (odo), what do you think of that? Different websites differ saying the max size of an odo is 9 inches or 16 inches.

I like the way Haitian Cichlids look too. If they are 9", I could possibly keep a pair of those also?

Just looked up those Grammodes man they are nice looking. I would not mind having one of those. I think this may be a good pick for that 90gal. It looks like jeff rapps sells them too.

There's no way you could go wrong with a grammodes from Jeff Rapps. Be aware, they grow very slowly, maybe 1/2" per month if you're lucky. And in my experience, they are very shy until they hit the 6" mark. They may eventually reach 12", but it'll take years. Lots of characteristics similar to dovii, just much smaller. But for sure a super cool fish. If you can be patient enough with their slow growth, you won't be disappointed.

Hence "grow" out in the 90g not home for life. I agree with the Grammodes. They are really nice. I think they are better looking than jags. They have more color.

Yea figured it was. So besides here what other websites do you use when your looking up info on a fish? I mean something that Jcannonb and myself could use if we want quick info.

Honestly, this is the best place for accurate info on just about anything fish related. Try searching using the advanced search feature with your keyword in the thread title. You should be able to find just about anything you need.

Apparently, we are supposed to use the search feature on here, right VRWC?

:-)
