Are those yellow labs in there?

yes indeed
and they reproduce like crazy
i moved them in there because there original tank is being used as a grow out for my baby albino oscar and jack dempsey
its a long story but to cut it short
threw GT JD and oscar all babies about 1.5inchs
yellows chewed them up bad
so threw the yellow in the big tank with the oscar hopping heed eat some teach them a lesson and well he didnt he doesnt even mind them
he chasses them once and a while but about it
the jag on other hand ate a couple
i also threw the small GT in the big tank cause he was beating up on the oscar luckly he to fast for anyone to eat him but it doesnt matter cause none of the big fish mind him
in fact the oscar and yellows are schooling as i type and jag and GT are in there hiding spot together
wierd i no
not the typical fish
as soon as my my baby oscar and JD hit 6inch mark they will go into the big tank and yellows will return to there 46 bowfront
started of with two yellows and in a year they breeded and produced over 20 offspring in a YEAR!!!! theres plenty to spare:ROFL:

definitely male, females will retain the horizontal row of large lateral spots while males will lose them and gain the small squiggly "jaguar" pattern the species is known for. and fish colors change dramatically from when they are stressed and when they are comfortable, the tank is definitely overstocked but you can try and see if it works and just make sure to do TONS of water changes, espcially with the messy Os and pleco, those things are pooping machines, also i dont think that there is any way to tell at all how old this fish is, you were already told that the previous owner kept it in a 29g tank and then it was in a 10g tank in the store so there is absolutely no way to tell its age by its size since there is no way of telling how stunted it is, and it is definitely stunted after being housed that way, the poor thing, and yeah some Os can be bullies just watch them and make sure the jag isnt getting too badly stressed or taking serious damage. GOOD LUCK and nice save!
