I don't know if you can get API Furan 2 where you are if you can try that is very good for surface infections. If that doesn't work or it's not available we can try somthing else perhaps Maracyn-2. I don't really know what's available in the UK.

Ok ordered some Maracyn 2 but had to do it off amazon, in the UK antibiotics are controlled. It could take a week to get here, in the mean time should i keep trying salt? I could try Methylene blue?

Continue with the salt and try some Meth Blue it can be hard on BB so keep an eye on that. If you want to try a bath if you don't have a QT here is some usful info.

"To prepare this bath use 1 teaspoon 2.303% solution per 5 gallons (double dose) in a bath of aquarium water from the tank the fish you wish to treat came from. Measurement of the Methylene Blue does not need to be precise as this bath should be used for about 30 minutes (although do NOT overdose). You may also add salts to your bath to improve effectiveness for certain problems when preparing baths for freshwater fish (such as swim bladder, dropsy or unknown problems). Generally I would use 1 teaspoon of sodium chloride (regular salt) per gallon and occasionally ¼ teaspoon of Epsom Salts per gallon.
This can be performed twice per day."

hello mate im in the uk and have had to order the same antibiotic from the usa previously for an hexamita out break, british laws suck, it worked very well! how long till they cotton on to ebay and amazon selling it!? you can take the fish to a vet and get antibiotics that way if you have a specialist near by.

aquanero is a legend, resident fish doc!-)

BB=Benificila bacteria.
