Jaguar Is one of the toughest fishes so I think he'll get over it (I hope).

I think 8 months of this is long enough. I wouldn't wait much longer before trying some form of medication. In the meantime I would up the water changes to 50% weekly. The increase in water change may not be the cure but it will still provide the Jag with good water parameters to recuperate in.

From the pics, your fish is not suffering from swim bladder disease, but Internal parasites.

and us the water changes.. 20% a week is a bit on the low side.. with large cichlids like Jags, you should be doing at least 50% water changes a week.

Why he isn't?
I don't think that he have hexamita... one of the symptoms of hexamita is thin and transparent poo - he doesn't have that (he's absolutely healthy except the fact he's on the ground)
and I never heard about fish that survived 8 months with hexamita.
