Jaguars aggression overrated?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no not in the water, find her a new home, 18" again there tall tanks.

I use a white oak bench to vacuum and such that sits behind the couch the rest of the time as a back seat, including stand is 66" to the top, tank itself is 33" tall. I love a wall of water/fish tank. being eye to eye to the fish while standing.

this is it behind lexy poo.

not bad when standing on the bench,

yea, ok see that's what I want....I just got a 125g, but I think a 24" width would be better than the 18", it's just it costs like double what they want for a 125g.....my LFS - a Ma-and-Pa shop priced a 180 for me at $760, JUST for the tank, no accessories
A little mom an pop shop down the road his one for $399.. I was going to pick it up
But i have 7tanks up and running now. Lol
Running out of room

i had a jag and got rid of him. it wasn't that he was violent, but he was just way more aggressive than the Vieja in the tank with him. He spent most of the day flaring up at every other fish, all day, every day, relentless.

It was a fight a day, and when he'd lose, he'd forget about it 2 hours later and go right back to flaring up at everything in the tank,. So, there was just no way he'd accept a role in the tank and live with it. Nah, all day long he was just flaring up, squaring off with all fish.

But he never hurt anybody, no fish ever died or anything, but it was just stressful to watch all day long.

That's just one fish, but, I don't think they're a very good match for a Vieja tank. Probably work out better with Amphs?

My amphs devil
Was always beating my jag up..
I ended up selling my jeg.
And putting my devil in a 75 by his self.

My Jag is about 9-10" now and lives alone in a temporary 75(have a 4ft 120 waiting on motivation). I have never been able to keep anything with him....attempted tank mates when he was much smaller. Always the same result...fine with the other fish then he would wait and kill them without notice. Even fish larger than him. He is an exceptionally ill natured fish to his reflection and other fish across the fish room flaring and "fighting" the glass to get to them. Beats the crap out of the python and algae scraper. Doesnt bother anything else in the tank outside of digging.

But straight up aggressive? Not really I think of him more of a serial killer style of lie and wait....befriend the other fish and then murder it in it's sleep. lol

Now my female Midas is straight up aggressive anything that invades her space is fair game whether it be anoher fish or my hand.
