Jaguars, Umbees and Doviis, Oh my!

As some of you may know i am setting up an 8x4 tank dedicated to big Cichlids! All Fish going in are male and i will have backup tanks running for them, so if they cant stay in thell be put in there own tank with a female!
So for the question!
How do you guys think my tank will play out containing these:
Dovii
Umbee (male)
Jaguar (male)
Midas (male)
Festae
Texas
2 Oscars
Black Belt
Jack Dempsey
Frontosa (already bigger than the others)

Well the tanks getting setup in just under a month.
I have a 4x18x18 at the moment with a Midas, Jaguar, 2 Oscars, Texas, Dempsey and a Frontosa... all is well.

So please tell me your predictions please.
And no flaming i will have backup tanks running just incase!
 
To be honest , I have been wondering about a simialr stocking plan and I really don't have a clue...(at least I am honest and admit I don't have a clue... that has to count for something right ? LOL )

I will follow this thread to find out I am sure you will get some answers from some of the more experienced MFKers .

How many gallons is the tank your setting up?
 
There is a person on here with an unbelievable guapote tank....It would be hard to believe if they didn't post pics. I don't have the link or remember all the species that where in there but there were pairs of many of the species they had. Some of the fish I remember where Jags,Dovii,Freddis,Loisellei,RTM I know I saw some Oscars in there as well. I think the tank was 9 feet in length. Sorry about not having specifics maybe someone else here as a link to the thread. I think it would be worth a try....it would be a sweet setup. You never know what personalities the fish will have. I would start with them all being small and keep us posted. That size of tank would give you a chance IMO.
 
Yeh i was hoping size would prevail, i also plan to split the tank up with rocks so there are plenty of hiding spaces and view breakers.
The only fish i am really concerned with is the Dovii.
 
I Don't know about the Umbee and Dovii long term.....that 8" Dovii they have is still pretty small. They might raise hell once they get 12+". I wouldn't use Oscars as dithers.
 
If worst comes to worst i would setup 2 6x3s for the Umbee and Dovii.
Im pretty sure all the other fish will be ok with eachover.

I would agree...the dovii and umbee might work you never know. The guy on here with the 52k tank has a mature dovii in there....he said that he actually calmed down once he was placed in the big tank. Then there is guapoteMel who has a pair of Dovii in a 600 gal. by themselves said they won't tolerate anything else in there...they are a pair though. Good luck.
