Yea they'll kill that clown knife. Unless your tank is massive any other fish is dead. Jags by themselves can clean out a 125 and a 155 isn't much bigger. Remove the knife

you can try i imagine, not something I would do unless I had a extra 90 or 125 tank handy to keep one in when it does not work out or down the road when the male goes psychotic, I keep both my jags in there own tanks for good reason.
 
8"-10" you're looking at around year old jags. Egg crate divider is your best option imo. Give them time to get acquainted then remove the crate & see how they do. Keep that thing handy though & don't be afraid to throw it back in there they seem to be having an above normal domestic dispute. Once the male surpasses the female in size you can cut a little hole for her to escape through. Ideally you want a 180 minimum size for full grown adult pair, but the 150 should last you a year maybe a little longer. Don't underestimate them the male can drop the female in a hurry & they can drop anybody else even quicker.
 
yup, better off doing JD, they aint that picky, and just get territorial when spawning. jags kill everything they see.
 
Just get a large male and a divider. Give it a try. Who knows....
I introduced a Butti male to my tank and with in seconds he paired up with my Texas female and where ready and willing to defend and kill all intruders. So who knows, you may get lucky and they take to each other right away. Or not and it may take some time or never work. But "nothing ventured nothing gained"... So go for it.

Jags get very aggressive and need to be on their own in the tank if you breed them. As mentioned Jack Dempseys are much easier. I have done both. Feed them some raw shrimp, do a water change and they will do the rest lol.

The jags will take on anybody that comes around, my 6" jag was taking on my 16" pleco and 12" oscar.
 
Jags aren't that bad on average they just require a lot more real estate. 125 for a male & 75 for a female. I've seen a pair do quite well in a 240 & 300 with all different tank mates. That being said keeping a female solo & doing breeding JD's (breeding color's are great) is easier by a long shot.
 
Hmmmm im unsure now i always wanted to breed jags as it sounds vèry interesting plus you can get like $10 per juvi which is always a plus but jd's seem like a lot of fun to
