Hmmm this whole asian thing =D umm.. one time when i went to an asian resturant not to back them or anything... but... I was looking at their 65 Gallon tank and it had 3 Large Arrowanas, 3 Large Red Parots, 1 Large Shovel Nose Cat, and umm... this other one i think it was a Knife fish of some sort lol. And i said outload iwth out me noticing, that the tank was over crowded... but then the owner of the restaurant said it was japanese style... but.. i how you guys mentioned... how much of an over kill their sump and filtration is... this rank was only running with only two biowheel 400 =S

Maybe not so much a japanese or asian tank stocking? or the same stocking desire just with out the lvl 99999999 Sump and Filtration =D

But umm yeah just a thought, reminded me of that time i went to order food =D when reading this thread =^___^=V

Yeah sounds like "japanese style" to me.. Yeah not always do they run huge sump filters. It kinda depends on who it is whether they do or not. If it's a top dollar arow collection they may have a huge sump, if it's less valuable fish then they might run normal filtration or a mix of different more normal filters. Many times they'll just run canisters/spongefilters/overhead filters/hob's even but I think overhead filters are more popular over there.

Alot.. but someone asked.. And alot don't really know what "japanese style" tanks are, or what we refer to. So it's like teaching newer people what someone means when they say that.

I agree though their fish are usually top notch and they have fish stocking usually that I have no idea how they make it work. I look up to anyone who can make a tank like that work. :headbang2

hmm they just had regular silver aros.. nothing to expensive.. hmm and what u said about the over head filters/sumps thingy.. that must be why my friend always makes his tank package deals with those types of sumps/filters... must be an asian thing i guese =^.^=
