That fish is not 3 foot, not even close. Unless That guy's body is 30 inches wide, the fish is no more than 2 foot.

Show it lying down on the ground with a tape measure next to it.

That fish is no longer than your aro del. INstead of believing everything you read, use a bit of common sense and actually look at that fish you just posted and tell me if you think it's 3 foot.

your views and conclusion are distorted by the fact that you believe that a jardini is not capable of reaching the 3ft mark based on what you have seen and heard, and you refuse to challenge them.

if the guys with the leichardti was to put the fish as close to there bodies as the jardini is to timpons body (asumming thats him, sorry ;) ) they would be slightly larger that that jardini since there is a 7 cm difference, which makes the jardinis size correct.

My views are not distorted at all, I am using my eyes to judge the size of that fish, and it's not 3 foot. Everyone agrees with me except you. I've also never heard of or seen a jardini that's 3 foot, wild or captive.

Steve has seen more jardinis than both of us, and he is also of the opinion that jardinis don't get to 3 foot.

If you think jardinis get to 3 foot in captivity, prove it, show a pic of a 3 foot jardini in a tank, or even a wild jardini next to a tape measure, measuring 36 inches +.

your majority vote does not prove anything. opinion is opinion, not fact. therefore it is useless, at the same time i dont have a picture of a jar thats 36in parallel to a tape measure to prove they get to and over 36 +. Just this picture of this speciemen which is clearly over 30 inches at the least.

but take this into consideration

most people that keep arowana, never keep the fish long enough to reach its full potential.

and also, most of them die before they reach full size.

recognize this fellow?

he was 36+ before moved into a 2500 gallon concrete tank.

this fish is 6 years old, how many are able to keep fish a fish this long?

most cant even get an arowana past the first year.

That's right, diet is important as are water quality and space. And we can never quite replicate these wild conditions that the species have acclimated to over thousands or millions of years. That's the answer to your question "why shouldn;t they get as big as the wild".

And we're talking about jardinis del, why are you posting pics of a silver?

how many silvers are you aware of that are of this size? (not counting public aquariums)

it takes time and patience, the same goes for a jardini, is sure as hell love to achieve this size, who wouldnt?

but it must not be inhibited by sticking it in a 150 because they supposedly only grow 2ft or less

yes we can never replicate the wild conditons, but we can get pretty damn close.

Lmao you to are never gona quit :) its possible to get 3ft if hes in a giant tank maybe but i still want proof. im done with this debate good luck to the both of u

and why is it that u can keep 2 silvers together and yet mine are 5" and people tell me not to leep them in my tank!
