I have searched high and low and all the info I find about jars is as follows.

When it gets to 12 inches it kills anything.

Gets to 20 inches max.

180 min tank size.

Am I correct on these things?

They get bigger than 20 inches. Other than that, everything looks OK to me.

How big can one get? 180 is fine? No tank mates?

ive seen 24 180 is bare minimum a 220 would work better tank mates are a possibility really fish specific so you are going to have to try it mine is pretty cool with other fish just little bursts of agression nothing major

The 220 is just 5 inches higher. same foot print. I can get a 180 with a 75 for $400. Can't find a 220.

you could do a 180 but as you know go as big as you can cause you will probably end up regretting it haha

i got my brothers 180 for free but yeah go as big as possible. My jar is around 8'' and i have no problem with him so far, hopefully it doesn't kill everything anytime soon. I got him with discus and dats and there isn't a problem yet. They all started together so maybe they'll be alright

I'd say the one that is coming my way is probably 24".

I wont be getting one for a few year probably. But I can get the 180 this summer. I haven't seen much bigger for sale. There was a ply 240 but that is gone already.
