 i want a tank that big... by the way, how long apx. dose it take for most jars to get used to you??

Well mine started to like me when I complained about him. So from now on I will pi$$, B!tch and moan everytime I get a fish ;) about a week now and hes comin around, still lil jumpy tho..... I cant wait til I can feed from my hand

mine is still sitting on the bottom and only comes up to eat when im not in the room. i dont know what to do anymore. today his color was very light (he is a black base im prity sure) and today he was the color of a normal jar. any sugustions or anything?

try blood worms that what my jar eats. or krill thatss what i used to feed it. get stuff that float. so it dont sink to bottom to fast.

k first of all its normal for arowanas to be timid for the first week, especially jardinis.
n chances r they'll stay timid becuz thats the way jardinis are.

if you really want ur jar to grow fast n bulky, then feed mealworms or market prawn/shrimp. freeze dried krill is not advised... itll cause protruding anus in the near future. and mealworm is kind of a ***** too cuz they dont digest the hard shell and itll be all over ur tank. market prawns n bullfrogs n centipedes r the best things to feed. crickets r alright.. but u gotta remove the legs and the hard shelling or itll cause a mess.

n jardinis accept pellets easily, just put in 1 in the morning, if he doesnt bite, then take it out. do the same at night. eventually he'll take it, trust me.

so ermm... good luck with ur fish. later.

hazmat are you that person who made a thread about a 125 gallon reef tank? I think it was on another forum. I was just wondering if you were that same person cause that tank was awesome.

Yea, thats my next move..... tryin to get him to eat other foods. All he eats right now is nite crawlers but he is gonna starve til he learns to eat other things. I noticed that he is kinda lazy with food.... he will wait til my Red Wolf catches it and then he tries to pull it out of his mouth and now the Red Wolf has learned the same damn thing and does it back to him :screwy:

rip-off of ron whites tatter salad

by the way. i figured out what was wrong with my jar. last thursday i did a water change, cuz it was a week sence i got him, well anyway, i turned off the heater cuz the water droped below the mark on it, long story short, i run my ac at night, just happend to be looking at him close, noticed my breath on the glass, tested it for the temp, turned on the heater, seems to be alot better now.

p.s. i am stupid, and from now on that is what my signature is going to be, Mr. stupid

Glad to hear you fixed the prob  I'm still tryin to get mine to eat diff things...... would bugs from outside hurt to feed or is there sum I should stay away from? I am not gonna feed spiders or anything that might Bite him and cause harm but figured while summer is still here might not hurt. He took a bite of sum BH but spit it right out. Right now only thing I have to feed the guy is Nite Crawlers, Beef Heart, Wardleys Freeze Dried Krill.
