Jardini..

those graphic pics are pushing me more n more to not add this jardini to my community. i tried it out in the smaller tank for a few weeks with jus a lil chasing but no tragic incidents. few not so perfect fins but thats about it. i was hoping for a mellow large community tank but hoped for a jardini to be in it jus to toss up the variety in the commm... i may need to re-think this. or try it out n pull him as soon as i see agression in any form.

The Jar is going to be the top dog and he is going to make sure everyone knows it. As long as my fish don't try to be pushy, in other words as long as the other fish don't try to test or stand up to my Jar things are cool and reasonable easy going. I have had the odd fish have more "balls than brains" and well the Jar fixes that problem.

To be honest other than the time he attacked one of my catfish things have been great. My 2"/3" CLs use to follow my jar around the tank thinking that he was one big alpha clown loach. :D

If your tanks are already at their fish capacity limits or beyond I wouldn't do it. Unless the Jar is all you care about, because he will probably own everything else.:D

my tank has plenty of room to add the jar, n i really really wanna try to to add to the diversity of the community. they look cool n are the closest thing that resembles a asian aro which is why i wanna have it in the community, i jus hate there attitudes. i have a rtgg and a fh that i know will test the jardini. the rtgg is the one that was most messed up when i first attempted this in the smaller tank. im jus hoping for better results in the much larger aquarium.

Of my 3 aros, the jar is actually the least aggressive and will only attack if provoked. The other 2 aros (SR and greenie) are more aggressive, but that is probably because they're bigger.

I think you should get one though. The colors are so much better in person than you could ever capture in a pic ... and they look beautiful and hardcore at the same time.

GET IT! :D

I wish you luck, hopefully things will workout.

Exactly. I was watching my jar, and he's only 6" now and he's been chasing the parrots like crazy. Why? Because they keep on crowding him and trying to take his food. I feed the parrots first, they load up on the hikari food sticks and some plankton which the jar won't touch. After they finish eating, I drop in some meal worms for the jar, and sure enough the piggy parrots come at him. He hasn't chased the silver that I have with him at all, and he actually swims with the silver now and then.

That's thing with jars, if the other fishes stay away from them, they don't attack or chase for the most part, but once they crowd the jar...all hell breaks loose. :naughty:

Anywho, I finally moved both the aro's into the 125G with the tinfoil barbs, ans so far no problems....yet.

Silvers and blacks are nice, but jars...they're so much better looking. With the red highlights, the short stocky body like an asian aro...plus the speed and swiftness that they move...its a beautiful sight.
