That is just 1/4" line. It is similar to the water line that you would use for a refrigerator. It is just a different color.

yeah it's regular polyethylene tubing :)

a few updates; i pulled all the sand out of my tank last night and will do a big water change today to clear all the muck. i have a feeling the deep sand bed is what is causing my nitrate problems. havent done a nitrate reading yet. i guess i can try after the water change to see where it's at.

and i'm still having problems with these damn drip emitters. even with the filter the flow seems to slow down every few days. i ended up punching a hole in the diaphragm with a needle to get it to flow normally. so, i just ordered some of these online. theyre dirt cheap and you can remove the top to clean out the diaphragm :D

yeah its bare. but its UGLY lol. i need to figure out what i'm gonna do, since you can see the brown paper from the acrylic underneath lol. i'm thinking of a big sheet of thin black ABS or maybe some tiles.

ok i just realized something here, can i drain my water line into this sewer opening? the lid says "sewer" on it and theres a large diameter pipe that goes straight down. i dont know anything about this so id figure id ask first. what does this pipe do? any implications with city by doing this? :)

it would be nice since its only about 2ft away
