They never admit their water change routine. It gets asked pretty much every time somebody makes a thread about their overstocked-with-expensive-fish tank. I suspect they have a secret chemical, perhaps low dosages of clove oil, with which they keep these fish sedated to keep them from going nuts and killing each other. But as for the water, I don't know how they get away with having those fish live more than a few weeks. Perhaps they have well water and do a heavy drip all day. But they won't tell you. It's a secret.

Or maybe its time to do away with your dated thinking?

Well I think the water is clear because no substrate or driftwood or decorations to get in the way of the filters cleaning out the poop and processing the waters. It's actually very easy with a completely bare tank with a good filtration system that removes all that poop and polishes the water.

You speak as if you were a savant of sorts, yet fail to mention the most basic of principles...CHEMICAL FILTRATION. There's a lot more to maintaing a packed tank than simply "removing poop" and "polishing the water".

Sighhhh...anyone remember when MFK was just that? MONSTER FISH KEEPERS? Not people passing off Petco knowledge as universal truths

This is the reason i never want to post pics of my tank on this forum.
To all those haters and (female dog) commends, PLEASE CALM DOWN, this is just a holding tank for his fishes before he transfer them to a bigger tank.
By the way, the word JDM is only apply on MFK not GFK. So just and enjoy pics

Yes, it's a secret indeed, only share among family and close friend. I'm just a hobbyist, not an expert fish keeper, so I my knowledge is not quite worthy to go public.

Monster fish keeping is having an appropriate number of appropriate fish of an appropriate species in a big enough tank with aquascaping and good filtration, and doing everything to make your fish happy and healthy.

THIS is not monster fish keeping. This is the senseless use of living animals as status symbols with no regard for the happiness or health. I love overstocked tanks, but they have to contain only fish that can live their whole lives in the tank, it has to be aquascaped so the fish are comfortable, it needs to be filtered appropriately, and it needs to have more water than fish.

So I just need to add some gravel so the tank can be aquascaped like their previous tank that you like?

Niiice. I am a JDM hater, mostly because most JDM'ers have fish that would outgrow their tanks, but these fish all look like they would be happy to spend their lives in that tank. Nicely done

wow I didn't know there were so many babies on this site. alot of you don't even know J and his wc routine and you guys act as if he was a noob but he's been raising fish longer than most of you and doing it JDM style keep it going bro J see you again on my next trip to Cali!
