The majority of our fish collections include RARE & EXOTIC Species of all sizes, BIG FISH with BIG APPETITES and BIG TANKS. It's not easy for most people or other "regular" fish keepers to understand why we maintain this type of collection and spare no expense on this fascinating hobby."
Come on guys, if you don't agree and on;y feel inclined to judge, then move on.
While I prefer to keep my fish in a different fashion, all I need to do is look at the water clarity and the health of the fish to determine that this man knows what he's doing and any flaming only makes his position stronger. He is thinking outside the fish tank, so to speak. Doing things with his fish that not many others consider doing.
We're passing judgments based on what? Our preconceived notions of how fish should be kept? Who made up the rules?
Once again, look at the fish. Do you see torn fins? Do you see emaciated fish? Is your tank as clear as this one?
Did anyone even think to ask about his filtration and water change routine? Or what he feeds? Did anyone even think to ask why he does this?

However, If we just all said "nice fish" and ignored something that was wrong, how productive would this site be? We are all telling him that this is wrong because we are educated on the topic and we know the needs of the species in the tank beyond water quality. And, frankly, I'm disappointed to see a mod (of this site especially) supporting animal abuse.

What are you telling him that is wrong other than he's wrong? What is he wrong about? What is wrong about his set up?
Lets see... He is keeping predatory, territorial animals stacked on top of each other. Some of which are nocturnal and require lots of cover. Some of which are very skittish and don't appreciate being spooked by other fish. All in a tank that isn't suitable for half those fish. This is just for starters. Lets get real. If those were all pacus, would it be ok?
Animal abuse? Seriously?
Yes, seriously.
I support this? Where did I say I supported this? I stated I prefer to keep my fish in a different fashion.
You didn't say you supported it. I suppose that is one of the implications. When you scold us and defend him, it implies that you support it. I've seen your tanks. They're beautiful. I understand that it is your job to keep the peace around here, but don't defend him if you don't agree with it.
What I am simply saying is that flaming will change nothing when you know nothing of what he does.
I know enough of what he does. It isn't progressive fishkeeping, as you also seem to be implying. It is wrong. I don't give a feeders arse what his water change schedule is like. I don't care what or how much he feeds either. It doesn't matter.
I've seen enough of these JDM threads where all you see for responses is "nice tank", "nice fish", bla bla bla. Thats because all the people who didn't like it kept their mouths shut, and all that remained was a biased thread. It's about time people started speaking up. As ridiculous as it seems, the flaming is working to an extent. There has already been a post in here saying how someone never posts pics of his "JDM" tank for fear of being flamed. Obviously, it is getting people thinking about right and wrong.

If your intent in flaming is merely to stop someone from showing their JDM tank, then you have had a measure of success.
If your flaming is intended to change someone's mind about how to keep fish, then you're on an endless path.
And just as an FYI, you may want to read the TOS where flaming/insulting is clearly stated as not a part of how we want this site to run.![]()
