Its much better to indivually house fish to watch them and let them show personality. Then to stuff them in a tank and they become bland and none are aloud to be how they naturally would be cause they get **** on every way they turn. I think its more of an ego trip than anything, but what ever floats your boat.

I just dont want to waste an 8x2x2 footprint on one fish. :screwy:

I understand what youre saying some of them go overboard but others look great. I dont plan on going full blown jdm. At most my tank would have 7-8 fish, not 20+ like some poeple.... but those people that do 20+ fish I was just asking them how they deal with the bio load.

For a 100%, what actually happens is basically two 90% changes back to back. The water is dropped down to the height of the tallest fish, refilled, then changed again.

Honestly? LOL are we living in the 60's. WTF? The above has got to be stressful to the fish!

What about a gentle 1 or 2 gallon an hour drip? 24 to 48 gallons a day or 168 to 336 gallons a week. No stress.

J D M ALLLLL THE WAY
i love overstocking and putting fish together that usually can not coexist while being mindful of each fishes requirements and paying attention to the needs of certain species!
As for my WC schedule its twice a week at 80%

I guess all of you use only 1 hose at a time to do wc cuz you can actually do a complete 100percent wc with a pump and 2 hoses. I change 100percent on my bichir tanks by dropping the water level around 5" and having a hose fill up water on 1 side and having another attached to a pump removing water on the other and water chemistry depends on where you live.I don't even add a chlorine remover to my tap water as there is hardly any traces of chlorine and no chlorimines from my water source.

I do 40-50% twice a week on a 120g with FX5, Eheim 2217, UV, and Koralia power head.

50% once a week unless fish get sick. I only have a pair of Eheim filters on my 150 and have over 50 bichirs. Those Eheims are amazing on what they are capable of. how many fish can a person cram into a tank before it's consider JDM? For example, let's take a 180g 6x2x2. Would you say 2 silver and 3 datnoids consider a JDM tank?
