Didn't know they came out with newer pumps, thought the DCT models were pretty new too. I guess they weren't as new in asia as they were here... Thanks for sharing.

If the 8000 wasn't already so overpowered for my setup I would have gone with the 10000 for a little bit extra. As it is now though, my 8000 is barely running over half power.

Do you find it moves as much water as marked? That was one thing I wasn't sure about. It seems mine is a little weaker than I had expected. That said I am also using the 10000 to push through two large cartridge filters so I know that slows it down a good deal.

I was under the same impression. I actually came across the DCS pump during my research of the DCT, made plans to get it, and then came across the DCP, before I ended up buying the DCS.

From the few reviews I found of people that had both, they say that the high whine that the pump has higher up the power curve is much less than with the DCT, and DCS. I'm extremely happy with mine so far.

I would say it does. My DCP 8000 is rated at 2113gph at max power with zero head height. My old RIO 20HF was rated at 1290gph under the same conditions. My head height is about 50-52", plus a little more due to some bends and a 3/4" bulkhead. I estimated that it was probably pushing 750-800gph, and that was at 65W. My new DCP 8000 can pump the same water on setting 57 out of 100, which it displays 34W on this setting. I know it's the same amount because I didn't change my herbie overflow at all and this setting put my water level exactly where it was with the other RIO pump.

I especially like that I can make such small adjustments to the pump speed because it really helps with tuning the overflows, instead of needing to make such tiny adjustments to the valves (I do have regular pvc ball valves instead of gate valves though).

So a heads up for larger sizes than the 10000 model, I contacted Fish Street, they seem to be one of the main companies carrying these pumps. They were surprised hearing about a 20000 size though did say an 18000 model is coming. I've asked for some more details, hopefully it'll be able to handle some head no problem as I'd like to use it as a basement pump.

If you look at the picture of the manual sheet in my first post, I think the 18000 model is rated for 7.5m (24.6ft) and the 20000 is rated for 8m (26.25ft). However, the drawback is that those pumps consume 145W and 175W, respectively. Still really good for a pump that size, but a lot more than an 8000 or 10000 at 5ft or less.

This two pumps are actually 36V pumps instead of the 24V that the rest of the product line is.

To my knowledge, Fish Street is the only place in the US, besides EBAY and AMAZON, that these pumps can be bought.

Still, even 145 and 175 watts isn't terrible for that kind of flow and head. Right now I'm using a Hammerhead, it uses a bit over 300 watts and puts out a bit over 6000 GPH with no head. 175 watts for 5200 GPH would be worth it, especially depending on the price of the pump.

Interesting Fish Street is saying there wont be a 20000 but there will be a 18000.

Yeah, definitely a good wattage for that kind of application, I was just comparing it to the wattage of having a same floor application. I hope they can at least get you the 18000 soon. Even though I don't need anything near that size, I would still be very interested in hearing how well it works out.
