JEBO Canister Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have owned a jebo 838 in the past and i liked it for the most part, it has lots of room for media and its cheap to buy. the things i didnt like was the plumbing. tubes were too stiff and the input and outputs that go over and into the tank were hard to work with. also jebo claimed this filter did 315gph. but i highly doubt that. it seemed closer to maybe 150-200 gph. I only paid $60 shipped to my door. so at that price i think it was worth it and would get another one if i needed a cheap canister.

So they are solely for mech filtration? How often do you clean them?

Indeed! :)

I'm thinking of buying another Jebo to use for mech filtration only... with filter floss, just like you did. Should get crystal-clear water :)

I purchased 8 Jebo Canister filters back a few years ago when I was importing.. They are cheezy plastic and if you move them around much they tend to break or get leaks easily. I currently have 2 broken ones left in my basement and the other 6 ended up in the garbage, to give you an idea.

My eheim on my 375g has been running for 8 years..

I have one that came with my 125 when I purchased it used... I havnt hooked it up yet though, it worries me that it might leak because it feels so cheaply made... So I prob wont use it since I already have an FX5 hooked up to it..

I also have a Jebo canister. I was just wondering where should I put the filter floss??? My bottom tray has a huge sponge, second, third, and fourth tray has a thinner sponge and I also got bio-max in them. Where should I place the floss if I get it? Which floss do you recommend?

You can load the top tray with floss. I use the fillings used in quilts - these come in mats that you can buy by the foot.

Very cheap. Very efficient.

Unless I'm mistaken, I got the tip from one of the guys here. :) MFK rocks! :headbang2

I did a research and they are called quilt batting. Do you use cotton batting or polyester?
