All of them I have seen can't close their mouths...I actually feel kinda bad for them...It's funny how certain hybrids are so accepted in the fish world, and some peopl think other hybrids should be destroyed...like flowerhorns and BP's are accepted and some even sought after....while certain cichlids will breed together and people think they should be destroyed before they can breed again...then again, aren't BP's sterile?? Maybe they just don't want hyrid cichlids taking over all of the purebreds while BP's cannot breed anyway so there are no worries about it.
Yeh I know but you can see their point, any hybrids I create are either culled, kept or given away to friends I can trust not to put them back into the hobby.Almost all male BP's are sterile although both of my females have produced fry from other male cichlids.Hybrids facinate me because they shouldnt be, I love the way you tend to see the mix of both parents(most of the time anyway). It annoys me that people will swear blind that crossing a pink convict to a BP will produce the little JB's but none can ever say they have done this and show any proof.
