I found a site that talks about the Jelly Bean and it states it is a cross between a Parrot female and a Male Pink Convict. The picture you just posted clearly shows this cross in my eyes. A short bodied Convict? Come on, are you guys serious?

All I see is a short bodied fish. If it indeed was crossed with a BP it wouldnt be white trust me.

Just to state my educated oppinion on the matter. Jelly Bean Parrots are a dyed fish. A major no no in my book. The heart shaped parrots have their tails sergically removed. I would never buy one nor shop at the Pet Store who sells them. Selling them shows a lack of morals. Owning them and knowing the truth is even worse. If your Jelly Beans are a very pale brown than they either have lost their "colors" or have never been dyed.

I just found a picture of a pair that a guy has to breed Jelly Beans. This is a Pink Convict Male and a Female Parrot.

What it appears to me after researching this is there are in fact short dwarf Convicts but they are not what are normally called Jelly Beans. Jelly Beans are a hybrid that were like has been stated dyed to produce some crazy colored fish. Hence the name Jelly Bean. A lot of people are now just breeding them and not dying them.

I remember something else now. You may have what is commonly called a Jelly Bean Parrot, but is actually a cross between a convict and parrot. Thats the problem with common names. Their to common. If thats the case then good luck.

The pink one is from the link you provided...The black one is mine...They are short cons......
