Jewel cichlids 10g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I actually have a breeding pair of cons in there now. The 10 gal is totally fine for them. They are still small. I can see it will be cramped when they get bigger, but I'm not attached to them as pets, so when they get bigger I can just trade em in on something.

I put two red jewels, a male and a female together in a ten gallon tank and they did nothing but fight. I moved them to a lrager tank (55 gallons) with 8 tiger barbs and 8 black skirt tetras, and they have been an established pair ever since. So i guess the ten wasnt comforatbale enough for them, they just wanted more space. Hope this helps. :)
