^yup if you can get a job to begin with even if its not the best it always gives you an opertunitiy. I know many people who are in very high upper management positions at an old place I used to work and they didnt have college education at all.

I agree 100%... Just don't have them ask you to spell opportunity:naughty:

LOL good thing my speech is better than my writing/computer english and spelling skills.

LBF - You have to keep bugging them. If you call them and they say the will call and they dont, then call them back again. If they say they will and don't and you go "oh ok..oh well..." and dont bother with it then it just shows them you didnt really want the job that bad. You have to be presistant (sp).

I have to politely disagree with that. If you're hiring and you want somebody, you'll be sure to get in contact with them. Bugging them just makes it akward on both ends.

Never have i ever said wow, this person must really want a job after i've done an interview and they called to check up on it. Showing how badly you want the job before and during the interview can help but i already knew you wanted a job when you put in an application and came in for an interview. I would never hire somebody who didn't pass my interviews just because they really really want the job. As bad as this sounds, people who you aren't going to hire just aren't at the top of your priority list so people either avoid calling them back because they'll feel bad or because they're not at the top of the list they run out of time doing other things.

Being persistent can turn into being annoying. You applied for the job, maybe had an interview, followed up. The employer knows you are interested. The interview and application will determine what happens. It depends on the situation and how badly they need new employees, but bugging them may turn out to hurt your chances.

If you keep bugging them then your name will be rejected almost immediately if you apply for another of their jobs. You will be known as "that annoying...." and as a result your application will get filed in the bin or shredder.
You did the interview and you phoned to touch base which showed them how keen you were but they didn't think you suitable this time. You should be proud of yourself, most people do not even get an interview.
At least you tried, it's more than some people do.

I can tell you that if you kept bugging me after i gave you a deadline by which time I would let you know if you got the job then you would never be hired by me. Phoning once is fine after the interview just show how keen you are but anything after that is employment suicide IMO.

Move on, notch it up to experience and try again. DO NOT let one, or even 100, failed application get you down. Keep trying.
