90% on a fish your trying to get a KOK to pop is too much. Drastic water changes cause stress on them and KOK is the first thing to go. From my exp its best to try 20-30% ever 2 weeks and since he is solo in a 55g he isn't going to crap up the water that quickly. Every fish is diffrent so sometimes you have to play around. I use chemical ph adjusters to find out what the fish thrives in and then use coral or driftwood to buffer.

7.8-8.0 he is eating like a gobblin and loves the mirror:D:naughty:

WOW... If I waited 2 weeks for a 20-30% WC on my 120g with only my JK there would be a half inch of poop on the entire bottom of the tank! I do 40-60% weekly and still have a big mess to clean!
