Those of us who dwell in the ancient fish forum may know Josh's Fish quite well; he is one of the big scientific heavyweights in the section. Josh has worked extensively with scientists and scientific data to bring some game-changing information to MFK and the hobby as a whole. His work has focused mainly on polypterus and African Arowana where he has been a leader on new information about these groups of fish, as well as texts on preservation and breeding of polypterus. For this reason I believe he is deserving of the distinguished academic (silver) award.
Here are some links to works that he has posted on MFK:
All bichir species (He says this is outdated by now, but is still stellar quality)

True diet (and care) of African arowana
While few in in number, his articles are widely used on the forum and some of the highest quality on here

Bichir Breeding Information - Post your experiences!
As many of you know, hobbyist breeding Bichirs can be difficult, but raising them can be even harder. I hope this thread can be a collection of information on breeding requirements for them. How do you sex them? Males have a wide, muscular/fat anal fin and sometimes a pointed tailfin tip...

How Do You Preserve Bichirs?
I get a lot of specimens donated to me from shops and other hobbyists as I like to preserve and display them. This method only works with armoured fish, such as Polypterids, Gars and Bowfin. The reason why I do this is because I get to find out how a fish has died, I learn about their anatomy...

The True Diet of African Arowana (Heterotis niloticus)
Anyone that has kept African Arowana (H. niloticus), have been aware of the difficulty that comes with keeping them. Is it a filter feeder? Does it eat fish? Why do they keep dying prematurely? This article I wrote for Life: Nature Magazine aims to answer any troubles you might have with...
