BETTER CONDITIONS THEN THEY ARE IN NOW!!!!!!!!

you elitist make me laugh some time:ROFL:

"Well technically this fish should be in such and such and kept with this and that or else nope you can't do it":screwy:

All i am saying, is that if i can house a fish even if not quite properly i can easily give it a far better life than that cup that it will most likely die in at walmart or any.....ANY pet store

Screw it i am getting a beta for my wine jug, i will fill the bottle about 3/4 of the way so that it has surface area not much , BUT STILL BETTER, get some bamboo, or another plant, and possibly keep it in with my lizard so that it is plenty warm, put an air stone in just for good measures ,

So screw all you betta elitist thats right screw you, maybe spend your time making sure something worth while is going to be ok, you know like ID sharks, Or Oscars that pet stores sell to kids that clearly can't house them due to the fact the ID shark will grow to be 4 feet. Pfft if i throw a betta in a frozen lake that is better than the cup its been living in

Rant over :nilly:
:screwy:

here's your response. stop acting like an immature idiot...
"Screw you"
WTF??
:banhim:
seriously

lol.. why ask us for our opinion if your just gonna do it anyway? do you need that one person to verify that what your doing is ok to go ahead and do it? seriously.. its a fricken wine jug.. SA is low even with the water only up to 3/4, water changes are gonna suck.. what are u gonna do? pour the betta into a wine glass? substrate? no dont think so.. gravel vac with a straw?

people like you piss me off..

if your gonna ask for advice and not listen to it, then why ask at all?

why the heck did he say "screw you"?
did he HONESTLY think a fish forum where people know their stuff and their field would tell him he could keep a tropical fish that needs air in a wine jug? isnt that EXACTLY what the lfs story thread is about? people who know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but insiust that they do??
but SERIOUSLY..."screw you"?... grow up...
:swear:

Erm? I've had a beta in one of these before, that was when I lived where it was WARM and I was young and thought it was cool to own a wine glass bigger than they sell bottles of wine....

Take it easy on the "betta elitists." You're on a website with some of the finest fishkeepers in the world. This is a vehicle for help and to spread the hobby. People here have extensive experience keeping all types of fish from the betta all the way up through arowanas and stingrays and beyond. You asked for help and opinions on keeping a betta in a wine jug and you got what you asked for, people have left their ideas and thoughts on your plan. They have told you the proper way to keep the betta fish and what you do with that information is your own preogative.

Now, no one is going to come after you for putting a betta in a wine jug and you're welcome to do whatever you please, but it's unfair of you to call names or judge people who you have asked for help. Please be respectful of everyone who has come to your aid. Keep in mind that you asked for help and you got advice from people who take the hobby very seriously and consider fish to be pets, on an equal scale as dogs or cats or any other animal. They believe that every fish should be treated and housed in the best possible conditions. Given, that your wine jug is bigger than the cup in which a betta comes, it is not the best possible conditions. Again, what you do is your business, but please do not flame anyone on here for giving you correct information on how to care for a particular species of fish. Best of luck to you on your betta venture. Keep in mind that the male betta is a fish with an aggressive nature, if you should have to put it in with guppies, I would be very careful. Male guppies with their flowing tails and flashy colors could instigate a male betta and you could end up with a tank full of dead guppies.

well if you say youre broke and you have a 5.5 and a 10 g tank why would you put a lil betta in a jug o wine

we know you think its cool but
thats just taking the betta from a cruel lfs to a cruel pet owner
that jug maybe bigger but does it mean its better??
