If they are super colored up at that size, they are definitely juiced. I’ve had juiced up males from Petco turn out to be females...
That female turned out to be holding fry, so yes, they can be fertile!
They will become less colorful, but will likely skill look decent.
The attached photos are the same fish. Juiced, and then 2 months later when it wore off.

Honestly imo that female actually looks better after it was older rather then when it was still juiced. The colors seem to be a lil more defined and more natural looking.

The OB can and will change colors, I have several 120g tanks of them and when the dominant make is at the other end, the 2nd sub males show brilliant color, but dull back down in the presence of the boss.
