jumping lungfish

My lungfish tris to jump out of the tank some times does anyone know why.

Sometimes they get active and jump... or check your water parameters - could be getting bad in there.

i just set the tank up 8 days ago i have a light on the tank should i turn it off

They are not fans of bright lights. Yes, turn it off and see if it makes a difference. Second, doesn't matter if you set up the tank 8 days ago - check your water parameters.

Just 8 days ago? You sure your tank is fully cycled?!?!?

in my lungfish tank i have had a lot of problems with nitrite know it is 8.0 how can i get it down he is in a 20 gallon

First of all, you're asking why your fish is trying to get out, and now you're saying you've been having a lot of problems with the water? Did I read you correctly?
Get that fish out of there (He's telling you the same thing) and into some healthy water!

theres a large chance your tank isn't cycled then. doesn't sound good for lungfishy

Some say lungfish is not so particularly of water parameters and very hardy.
and some say it can do a 100% water change.
