JUNE BEETLES!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
doesn't really matter, they all look the same when they come out the other end, LOL!

Your metallic blue beetles are probably not June beetles. More likely Japanese beetles by common name although closely related "scarabs". They are mega-pests and turn rose bush leaves into skeletons. Got em' here too and hate them!

My aro eats any insect that lands on the water...

It gets plenty of them too.

insects are really great for aros so i try to give them everytime i could find safe insects to feed them

yeah, i dont eat bugs either but there are some regions in our country where they eat a lot of those bugs i posted. june beetles are a delicacy here. i have'nt tasted though but a cousin of mine who regularly eats these critters attest to their crispylicious consistency, yummmmy! LOL!

EEEEEEWWWWW they're in your hand! June bugs creep me out, but my oscars absolutley LOVED them. Big fat beetles. You can hear them inside when they slap up against the side of the house around the porchlights. *shudder* *gag* My fish only ever got to eat them when they managed to sneak into the house and I had whapped them like 30 times with the flyswatter.

they're harmless vegetarians actually. the only insects i fear the most are roaches, i can't be in the same room with a roach.....phobia

haha funny i saw this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just earlier 2day my nephew was screaming BUG! BUG! BUG!
so i go outside and see this green beetle right on the welcome mat!!1
so i get sewing string , make a knot and tied it 2 the beatle. it lasted four hours until it just got tired and stopped flying...later i just ended up feeding it 2 my OSCAR...feet-thingys off of course;)

not to derail but most americans have not seen the super roach.. these suckers
can reach 3-6 inches and are giants compared to the small ones i see here

Here is a small specimen
