Jungle Puddle Paludarium Build Log

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just a little update for anyone watching. Lots of change and continuing to experiment. The terrestrial moss started to go brown and die, I suspect due to the 99% humidity. It has however remained and prospered at the very top of the background where humidity is perhaps lower (not photographed today).

I removed the anubias, which was doing amazing, and added it into my african riverine biotope. The clash of geography with the java moss bugged me. I've just added some hygrophila polysperma as a test. Not sure how it'll do so far from the lights.. that are 2 foot above! But we'll see.

Anyway, the java moss is booming and looks lush.. nicest I've ever grown it!

I love how the previous 'wild' life continues to come back to life with a bit of water and light. Great fun, never know what will pop up next!

The hygrophila hasn't died yet which is a good start. I hope it takes like the java moss!

Are tree frogs ok with water? It was my understanding that they can still drown rather easily.
Tree frogs are just as good at swimming as any other frog. Even pacmans are surprisingly good swimmers
Edit: didn't see how late I was, apologies
