They definetly are addicting........after sunday I have a feeling your going to be needing a rack system:ROFL: ............

Guys I was in Spain, yesterday ( biggest turtle guy in the Iberian pensinsula ). Anyway, he has those gorgeous ball pithons, lots of phases and "normal ones ".,. and he told me that Gaboon and (could it be Cameroon ) have forbidden export, so those snakes will get dearer...

That's what I was told. Was on the verge of bringing one...

hmmm I dunno there are so many captives and there are other countries that captive farm them too so...

For Walls, as promised!

How big are the tubs.? Looks like a good system, see you have records to hand and everything. What do you set the ambient air temp. too then? Also is the thing below the third tub with AP anything or...

From right to left,

2 AP Adult racks...tubs are about 36x17x6...more than enough space for even the biggest females.

AP juvi rack...tubs are 32qt, 24x17 I think? Good for males for life and females until they are about 1500 grams.

The white rack is a SnakeShacks 15 qt rack...hold babies/juvies up until about 600 grams.

The "fridge" below the white rack is an incubator. Basically an old, gutted Coke fridge with 3' of Flexwatt heat tape, controlled by a helix. Holds 4 15qt egg boxes....I'm going to have to build something else next year...

I keep the room at 82 degrees, the space heater on the floor is controlled by a ranco thermostat. The dial on the heater itself didn't keep a stable temp to I just turned it up all the way, but let the ranco control it instead. Works great. Between that at the t-stats on the racks, this is truly a "set it and forget it" type of setup. Leaves for more time to play with the snakes than worry about temps and whatnot ;)

Very nice and well organized. Do you also keep a humidifier in the room ? I would think that the space heater would make the room too arid for even BP's.

Oh yeah, I usually run 1 Vicks Warm Mist humidifier in the summer, 2 in the winter months when we have to turn the heat on in the house.

The room stays at 50-60% humidity, though I'll still lightly mist the snakes in their tubs when I see them go into a shed cycle. Sometimes I forget and they still shed fine anyway, so I think I've got it just about right.
