Just got 2 baby bowfin

theres bowfin near where i live i could just go out a catch 20 of em my friend once beat the state record but he never did anything bout it round here we call em dogfish watch out cause they try to bite

dont give up. do all i said and run to walmart and get a powerhead and point it at the surface...

it is a primitive lung that they need to fill but still need dissolved oxygen in the water. more-so when they are young. probably why they spawn when the water is cooler and more oxygenated...

So what is a good way to agitate the surface? I have moved the outtake to the canister filter closer to the top to get a good current at the top of the tank, but is this enough?

the more the merrier without getting carried away. i figure if you have a third of the surface or more rippling youre good...
 
Use a powerhead just like what others suggested. Put it near at the top of the water surface to effectively push water around and agitate the surface.
