This thread has actualy turned quite sad. Some good advise was given.... Some bad advise was given...... At times I thought this thread stank of a troll. If this thread is real, then you have no right to call yourself a Monster Fish Keeper. I would seriously advise you at this point to sell off whatever you might have that is related to this hobby, and find a new one to invest in. Possibly one that does not involve live creatures.

Maybe in a few years, armed with some more knowledge and maturity, you can come back and enjoy this hobby again. Just my honest opinion. And something I really, truely feel that you should consider. Both for the good of your fish, and yours.

Maybe I missed something. My apologies if am wrong, but how are you going to house all your monster fish? The largest tank that you have stocked and using is the 55 gallon and a 240 gallon that isn't ready. Did I miss someting about you having or building a tank the size of a swimming pool.

240 gallon, not set up.
55 gallon, 2 oscars, 4 african cichlids, 1 aro, 1 uro.
30 gallon, 1 pacu, 1 giant gourami, 1 comon pleco.
12 gallon,babytank, 1 parroonshark, 1 ck.

Let me kind of break down what I believe you are saying. 55 gallon: 2 oscars 12" easy, 4 african cichlids up to 4", don't know what kind of aro but smallest grows up to 36"', uro 10".:duh:

30 gallons: Pacu (you must be kidding me) 30" and thick, Giant Gourami (qouted by Wikipedia) "Gourami can grow from 75 mm to 500 mm (20") in four years", 1 Common pleco 20".:duh:

12 gallon "baby tank": 1 paroon shark (From Wikipedia) "Full-grown adults can reach ten feet in length (300 cm) and weigh up to 646 pounds (300 kg):WHOA: ". 1 Clown knife 40".:duh:

Now you got youself an African Aro and are planning to get more. And on another post you said you just bought a 3/4" Datnoid. Where are you putting it? If you put the 3/4" Dat in any of your tanks you have stocked, it will only be an expensive feeder.:( I'm just totally lost on what you are planning to do. Some of these fish will outgrow any of the tanks you have (including your 240 gallon) within a year:wall: :( .

Please enlighten me so I could do it too, I want to get a giga and I have a huge used betta bowl for it. The Doctor. :screwy:

Dealing with ich with a normal established tank of fish is a problem. Now the newly introduced filter feeding African Aro has it. The death clock is still ticking even if he is feeding. Salt is not going to make the protozoan go away. You need something like Coppersafe and it has to to be administered for about 14 days, preferably with an elevation of tank temperature but your new fish will not be able to handle the temperature increase. Less oxygen will be available to it. Not only that but the Ich parasites attach to the gills as well as the fins. I hope the fish doesn't need his gills to feed because they are weakened. Read up on ich medications and be careful with copper based medications. Also remove the carbon in your filter. I hope your biofilter is established because your ammonia and nitrites will rise. :( You cannot change your water without adding more medication and monitoring the lethal level of copper must be done. A drop in pH with copper based medicines will kill the fish. Good luck.

could i do a water change every day, or is that bad 4 them.

and now he has a lil ich, cuz the clown knife had a little, but i moved him out of the tank.

I have never seen a case of a little ich. One parasite exponentially produces infective stages. Once they attach to the fish, they weaken it and cannot be killed. If you have micron filtration, do this now.

thats very lucky ;)
