Just got back from my lfs!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its unfair i know i was thinking of rehoming the lent and just get dwarf pike and put those in my 60 and the fahaka in th 150?????

It would also be unfair to a lugubris pike than can grow to 14" or so. If they can't live together, there's either a tank upgrade or a rehome in the future.

Yes I understand that. But I personally believe that the puffer should have remained in the 150 and the pike should have been placed in the 60. Yes an upgrade is needed. understandable with the size of both fish. But you are downgrading almost 100 gallons. I personally dont see it as right. Its his fish, its his call. I am just saying it was kind of a foolish move imho.

I do regret moving my fahaka and he's going back into his tank and the lent will have to go,If I can't get a 90 gallon, the fahaka does have WAY WAY MORE PERSONALITY :/now I feel like an ass for changing my puffer

Well the lent is doing great he's on bloodworms now and still a little shy hides every time it sees me:/
Is he going to be like that all the time or will he come out eventually?

Tankmates will help make him less shy. I know nothing about puffers, so I can't speak to that, but four or five sturdy, large Geophagus would probably work well.

Ok I'll get one more do you know anything about red pikes ???
Will my 8" lent be ok with 3-5 inch Lents or no??

Mixing pikes might be a tricky thing. My lents got along well but I'm pretty sure they were raised together from young fish. There are also situations where a dominant pike will harass and/or kill another. I'll let other pike experts chime in on that. My gut reaction would be to avoid mixing in more pikes and try to find him some other suitable tankmates, but that's just how I'd personally handle it.

Wat about baby Lents with my lent?? Or will he eat them?

Ryan is giving you some pretty solid advice. Is your 150 a 4ft or 6ft tank? Lugubris group pikes can be pretty aggro towards each other. I would be wary of adding more in, especially if it is a 4ft tank.
