Nice pickups, just recently got some myself but mines don't have as much black as yours.

I like that reflection picture, expression is priceless

Thanks for the comments everone. I just picked up another 55 gallon tank today, someday it will be used for Rift lake Cichlids, but for now it will be used to ease some the the pressure all my varius fry on putting on my smaller growout tanks. This way I cant get those fry out of the tank with the marbled convicts, incresing their water quality and their ability to breed.

I really do need a few more growout tanks. I should look for a good sturdy workbench with a bottom shelf underneath so I can line up and stack some 30 gallon aquariums. Or something like that, I don't know. Whatever I can come up with. I'd love to get these marbled convicts breeding though.

those are pretty cool.

i love how those look as they get older

whats the update?

Nothing too exciting to report. I had moved them to a 55 tanganyikan tank with some young lamp. tetracanthus, not ideal, but I have a tendency to move fish around to try to maximize tank space. Basically, they weren't meant to stay there forever. A pair formed, and I moved those two and put them in a 150 that had some larger (not huge) CA cichlids. I figured they'd have plenty of room to hide and breed in there. Got home from work the next day, and the pair had been murdered.:(

I still have two marbled convicts left, but they appear to be the same sex. Now I can't find any more in local fish stores. I really don't want to pay shipping for convicts, even marbled ones, so I'll just be patient, and I think eventually I'll find some. I was hoping to find some at the ACA convention, but if someone had them for sale, I must have overlooked them.

Oh, and my male a-hole cutteri recently killed his mate, so for the first time in a while I don't have any breeding "Archocentrus" types, defintely feels like there's a void there.
