Ohhhh! I see? Could work but you'll end up with one tall piece that sticks up so you wouldn't be able to replace the top brace. I think it'll need that to hold water...... There's always duct tape.

What are you going to use as perimeter support? What I mean by that is that just about every 55 I've ever seen has a top and bottom frame along with center bracing. Based on what you are suggesting, I don't see how it would work unless you fabricate some sort of top and bottom frame. Maybe use some L-channel 14 or 12 gauge Aluminum or build one from wood. But otherwise, I forsee a massive tank failure in your future.
