ditto,

they are often over sedated.

payara are very fragile. especially when it comes to meds.

Way too much drama E! From my stand point, it's not L Aquatic fault. Payara is sensative fish. Sedate or not, 5 hours trip is a long trip for them. You already knew that trip duration, and still go with the transaction. You should absorb the risk. Once you received the fish, and he's alive, L Aquatic is done on his part. You know that he had a long trip to go home, and you've been bombarding with posts and phone calls. That's not cool to me :grinno: Hostility won't get you anywhere, and make a name for yourself . Chalk it up as an experience. Just my thought

Were you aware that there was no live guarantee? I mean if its just his policy then theres not too much you can do. I know these situations suck but I have a couple places around here that dont guarantee live arrival or acclimation and I know that I'm gambling when I choose to buy fish from there. It seems from what I read that he could have handled the situation better but no one can force the guy to replace the fish. Good luck though man.

I'm sure people would like to lie and change stories...
But I did not know there was no live arrival gurantee. This is the first time I buy from Venders (atleast I thought he was, the name itself fooled me) that I dont go into the store and purchase (big diff, lfs you can see his health... road trip lfs (this case) its here it is what you asked for... then drive. Oh well)

I'm telling you payara are NOT an easy fish to aquire in good health.

You have to expect the worse. 5 hr roadtrip? What percautions were taken? Own tote? 12V pump? Or just tat in bag and drive?
