how many birchirs do you think i could get in the 125 for life? i was thinking a senegal and maybe an ornate, with the two GT,s. ive been thinking about getting 2 more GTs just to up the odds of getting a pairing out of my four... what do you guys think?

and what would you guys think about adding a pair of breeding cons into the tank so that when they have babies the other fish in the tnk got summin to munch on for a while?

bump

I don't have experience with bichirs.. but adding 2 GT's to increase your chances of getting a pair sounds fine, usualy people start of with 5-6 to get a pair.

I love convicts so I would definately add a pair.. don't know about the munching part cause I don't think they'll let your GT's munch their babys.

i figured they wouldnt let them munch the babies right off the bat, but once the babies grow large enough that the parents stop looking after them, then they could become food

i got two more GTs from house of tropcials. there a bit bigger than the first two but all four are getting long well and have been for the best 4 days. i also got two spotted pims to go in there as well.

BTW House of Tropicals in Glenn Burnie MD and 2 V. African Tiger Fish for about 70 bucks there around 3 in.

Personally Id eventually remove the cories from the tank (surprised no poly expert has chimed in yet) but your senegal will out grow them. When it gets large enough it might try and eat them, but instead might choke and die from their spines.

Good call will deff be doing that, right now though there doing a good job of cleaning up left over food off the bottom. Are there any other cories that get larger that I could use? Or any other fish for that matter that kinda sifts through the sand

another question, what size do GTs become sexually mature

Wow that small? I've go two about that size now and two mor at about 2in.... anyone know what size convists breed at, im thinking about getting a pair of them as well
