Just got my first leopard gecko

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good to say that geckos dont enjoy much handle... and they can do autotomy like any other gecko. But if you do that carefully it can be safe.
Good luck with your new baby!

Use a heat lamp to heat the cage, and that will drop the humiidity, plus using an aquarium with screen lid, or if you're going with a rack, make lots of air holes.

The geckos at the petco near me are decently looking, and they have a male that is not normal. maybe chocolate albino? I dont' know.

I was going to say, make sure you look at it carefully since they typically keep their geckos on sand, be sure they're using a feeding dish, cags is clean etc...

best of luck with the new gecko snakeheader

The cages at my petco all look great actually. They do a decent job.Im heating the tank with a 50wat daytime bulb and i have a screened hood but the humidity is still at around 40-45 I have him on vitasand.Heat in the day is around 85 and at night around 70-75.What else do I need,i have a good water dish a humid hide and of course his feeding dish

maybe a small fan to air out the tank haha

I'm surprised your humidity is so high with a bulb that strong.

i know but i figured i try it to help keep the humidity down but no success

although it has been really rainy out here i may also try moving him away from my 55

what size tank is it? maybe your water dish is too close to the heat source?
