just got my first oscar.. slight problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
oh.. well ok then.

i guess im just a little nervous because i was expecting him not to be pouting anymore, and nows he's not eating either.

I am about to get my first oscar soon. Will be an albino tiger. Going in my 75 gallon though. We can see who's grows faster.

alright, mine measured out at exactly 2.5" long.

i guess ill be going to go pick him up another fish of some sort. hopefully that will bring him out a little.

so i went to get him another buddy, and got a regular tiger oscar thats a tiny bit bigger. they're ALREADY swimming tons more! i also picked up 5 little minnows, i already saw Otis (the albino tiger) and Simmon (the regular one) have both already eaten one! I also got some frozen blood worms which i think i'll break out sometime in the next coming week.

they're both fat and happy hanging out at the bottom of the tank.

expect pics in 5-10 minutes! :headbang2

sorry for bad pics

and let the pouting begin!

Great pic's. I love your Oscars. Take excellent care of them and you'll be truly happy with their growth progress. When I had mine I taught them to play volley ball with a ping pong ball which they tossed back and forth between two separate 75 gallon tanks. I had to do this under supervision do to their size (about 8" ea.) and not wanting them to try and jump out of their tanks. It's great sport to watch them play like that if you can train them to do it, though.

Wishing you much success with your Oscars,
David K. Bradley

Thanks! It's so cool watching them chase the last two minnows down.

Would takig out the hidig spots make them learn to be less skittish?
