Just got my Fluval FX-5

i have a 180 gallon and a 90 gallon with africans. lol.. i have built usj's out of pvc piping (thanks to this site! lol) and hooked a MAG 7 pump to it.. that baby pushed water around and poop never settled lol.. it worked great cause i have alot of rockwork in the 90.. i eventually took it out of the 90 gallon because i moved all the fish in there to the 180, and only had a 9 inch male venustus in the 90--not enough poop or food settling to worry about it..
im planning on converting the 90 to a CA/SA here in about a month.. im planning my stocklist as we speak muhhhaaaahhaaa!

Sounds like a plan,but I would have to see a pic or something to get a good idea of what it looks like? I'm in the process now of looking it up on the web.If you got something I could look at then by all means send it over.Thanks,Joe

I agree with all the pads for the FX-5. (not putting them in that is). I have the pellets in the first and third stage. With Chemi Pure elite in the second (I think). I will be moving the "pellets" to the 2nd and 3rd and just putting in some scrubbies in the first. The other pads clog so damn fast. I do know that if you want to polish the water you can use the polishing pads, just be ready to swap them out in a few days lol. They do work though. Mine is on a 220. I will be adding one on my 8 Foot also.As for your substrate. I do not think the FX-5 is messing with it at all. I hope all that made sense. I just woke up and aam not finished with my first cup o coffee!!!!
