Just got the 400gal !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will do my research. They are dead center in the middle of the tank. Which is wierd because with the pipes don't I need to come straight up to the top of the tank? And that would be kind of hard to hide

Are all 6 right next to each other or is there space in between each set of holes? The overflows come before the holes and the standpipes do come up to the rim of the tank. The DIY standpipes on dursostandpipes.com are pretty self explanitory. The overflows surround the holes and standpipes and are silliconed to the back of the tank.

Okay here is pretty much where the holes are. They are circles though lol not oblong. Not very good on paint, sorry. Is there any way to route the pipes down under the tank and then up to the overflow? Or do you think it would be easier to just put acrylic over the holes and seal it up and make a retrofit type sump? Because I really don't want pipes coming up the middle of the tank. If it goes under and along the back of the tank though we can hide it with a background.

Hmmm saltwater tanks usually have the drills closer towards the edge... I have an idea though. You could make standpipes, get driftwood or rock or some other decoration, and drill the decoration so that the standpipe fits inside, this way you have a hidden standpipe, and then you could close up the 4 small holes and have your return pump set to return over the back.
If you do not feel like going with this route, you can buy overflow boxes that hang on the back of the tank and just close up these holes.

the return is on the top bac corner
