I have been wanting to upgrade my 55 for a while now and I just got the go ahead from my parents! I expect to have enough money for the setup by april or may and im really excited. Seeing as this is my first big tank I would like abit of info and advice in regards to the setup. The set up will be as follows.

Tank, 4x2x2 120

Filtration
Aquatop cfs 500 uv and an Aquaclear 110

Lighting will be a beamswork 48 inch single bright.

Heating is something that im not too sure about. How many watts should a heater for this tank be?

As for the stand I think I will end up building one.

Now for the stock. My taste is kind of all over the place so the tank wont really have much of a theme, that being said I also want to know if there will be any compatibility issues
2 AT dats
1 Flagtail
1 false gar
1 pink tailed chalceus
1 leopard ctenopoma
3 ropefish
1 palmas pollis
1 sen bichir
1delhezi bichir

Any help comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. :D

I'm trying to convince my parents to let me do the same haha
For the tank why would you want a tank that is the same length as the one you currently have? Especially with your stock I would invest in one that's 6' but that's my opinion

Its 11 inches wider than the tank I currently have, I like the width. Plus the price jump between a 6x2x2 and a 4x2x2 is pretty substantial. I might look into a 5x2x2 but still its alot of money for someone with a part time job.

You have many fish that grow 12 and one that grows larger and would be extremely cramped in a 4' especially the charcachins (spelling) which would like as much space as possible for swimming. But again that's for when they are full size.

I need to spark up my fish life

That would be grossly overstocked when they are full grown in a 4 ft tank, honestly if your not gonna get the 6ft don't even bother with a new tank you need to worry about your stock

Way overstocked if you will keep them for life. Most of them are slow growers, though. You can keep them there for a little less than a year and then you will need to upgrade. Certainly I myself will not do it as the very short footprint will mean your fish will see each other very often and will result in a lot of stress. The bichirs will also outgrow the slow growers and have easy meals with the other fish in a few months time.

I recently got a 120 too, same dimentions as the one you want. i think the 6 ft one is better but in my case there was not were to put a 6 ft tank. i would do a 5 or 6 ft if possible...

If you want the 120 with the 4' footprint then id completely change your stock because the datnoids and flagtail are too big for a 4' tank, and the "false gar" is most likely too large of a species for a 4' tank who would have made a snack out of your climbing perch.... Why don't you do a cichlid tank ? The fish you've mentioned would cost hundreds of dollars if you don't already have them

Just to clarify I dont own any of the fish listed except for the sen, delhezi, leopard ctenopoma and false gar.
