Just how big does a pleco get...

That would count as a monster pleco for sure. Even my jaguar mix cichlid couldn't harass that very much. When I move up to a 125 or 150, I'd like to find another one like that.

Just wondering what about the largest plecos anyone out there has seen. How big have your Plecos gotten? The biggest one I saw as a trade in was about 18 inches. Would like to find that guy now, I have a home for him now.

At my lfs they had a 30" sailfin common in a rubbermaid stock with koi. I didn't believe them until he took this giant hunk of flesh out and it was like a tsunami of water coming at the floor full speed BAM!

I'm actually not that far from Atl. About a 2 hour drive. I used to live in Norcross for about 2 years. I'd try to go after it, but I don't trust my vehicle to go that far. Also have forgotten how to get around Atl. Wish that was a store up here.

Isn't there a great Public Aquarium (zoo) in Knoxville? Why don't you contact them and let them know you're interested in a large pleco. Zoos/Aquariums keep getting calls from people wanting to donate their fish that outgrew their tank, or have to get rid of their fish, and the zoo/aquariums will decline. Maybe they can refer one of their pleco related calls to you? (There are stories of people sneaking in to zoo/aquariums to release their fish in to an exhibit; maybe they have a "contraband" pleco they can give to you too.)

I might call the local zoo, I hadn't thought of that. If I lived in Chattanooga, I would check with Tn. Aquarium. I could live in there, especially after a bad day at work. Thanks for the idea.
