Just inherited a small blue prawn. What should I know?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
    this thread is maddness, it would have been easier to just bump it rather than keep posting over and over and over again  i have read the lot and still no clue as to what your trying to talk about, is it a cray is it a shrimp is it a prawn no its a giant blue lobster with acid bubbles

Why waste a post with a bump when I have so many unanswered questions? And it is becoming ever more obvious that few people here know anything about red macro shrimp, so I'm just about done asking questions to you guys. It looks like trial and error is my new friend. Just a recap on the questions that scared all of you into hiding:

Diet
Temperature
Preening/Cleaning/Yanking actions after molting
Oily bubble
Brown spots with mold. The mold is gone but the brown spots remain, and they weren't there before the molt. This makes me believe something was wrong during the molt.

Though I'm pretty confident I won't get any answers I nonetheless present these, my consistently ignored questions.

A bump would have brought the post ttt instead of seemingly panicking about what going on in your tank, and like the guy said a few posts back, most people on here work so dont spend all there time on here, its also pointless getting yourself wound up about the fact people (some) people on MFK dont know the answers to your questions. A tad childish IMO but thats just my opinion.

I dont have a clue what you have or what it is your trying to say about it i just stumbled accross this thread and thought it had a slight humour to it ;)

Soz if ive offended you but sometimes it happens in life matey :D

I agree. Me myself had very good weekend having laugh drink bbq over the long weekend. Today came i had to phone work see too ill. With my bad head i come across this thread. It was far too much my aching head to take i could not work out what it was lol. Least put pic up lol lol

Well, I can't get pictures of him, but here are some from elsewhere. He looks most like the top picture.

That site had much info, too.

So sorry to be amusing.

I really just wanted answers and I'm used to getting them on Monsterfishkeepers. I guess that's a good thing after all, isn't it?

Happy fish---er, shrimpkeeping everyone! :)

I think most of the stuff you mentioned about your shrimp is natural and nothing to worry about, You do well to ask around MFK members theres lots of great people and info here, try taking a look at some of the stickys, they also have all the info you need, well usually all, ive found that the stickys really help so give them a try and you never know, you might find some great links hidden in there somewhere.

Good luck with the shrimp anyway, heres to hopeing he lives a long and monstorous life ;)
