Just not satisfied with the stocking...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ever considered pink tail chalceus? They are very active and beautiful fish. Grow like wildfire as well.

Got a 1.5" fish and within 6 months it was 5". Ended up selling it to someone with a larger tank but they are magnificent as adults

Awesome lookin tank you got there mate. That must be the most chilled out dovii ever. How long has he lived with all those tank mates?

Thanks bud, he has been with fish since 2", never killed another fish and is no worse than a Midas tbh, of course I expect this to change hence my pal taking him for his 800g community.
He is a slow grower at over 2yrs old and just about 12". Not sure he is even pure dovii tbh, maybe x grammodes.
Thanks anyhow, back on topic, this is not about my tank!-)

As your Dat is found mostly in brackish waters or at least very hard freshwater,Scatophagus argus would be a good choice of outgoing tank mate.
However this does contradict the needs of your other fish.

Hey,
the tank is 6,5ft x 21,6inch x 19,6inch/ 200x55x50cm.
I guess I will seperate at least one of the Dats to see if keeping them as a group of three is the problem here.
'Cause as I said in my 120 there is a single D.polota doing fantastic and being active.

Got floating plants in a tank neaby I can try to move them but I'll BET they will either be eaten by the Metynnis or will die due to a lack of light.

A pearsei would be a little big for the tank wouldn't it?
I could go for a group of Heros severum red spotted but I'd have to grow them out in another tank because I'd get juveniles (adults are damn expensive here).
And I don't know if the red ones would even look good in there because they are not looking natural at all.
With Geophagus the problem is that I do not have a clue which species I would consider keeping.
No Tapajos Red Heads, never again!
These fish terrorized the characins and angelfish in the 120 to the point I sold the whole group cheap as heck just to get them out of the tank.

Acarichthys would be nice but I can't find them for a good price (only ones are juvies for 33 Euros each), Altifrons would be great as well but I can't get those either

Nah I am not a fan of goldfish in tanks if I'd keep them it would be in my pond .
To me this tank is too small for balas/tinfoil or similar HUGE and active barbs or characins.
Add a touch of the predator feel with some of these options of fish not all will be compatible so let me know which fish might interest you
Rainbow Wolf fish
Pike characins (upper layers)
Paratilapia polleni (black Diamond cichlid from Madagascar, very stunning like an oscar with pearls on a black body from Madagascar)
Charax headstanders shoal (looks like mini vampire tetras but only 5-7inches)
Dwarf giraffe catfish (30cm max)
Rainbow snakehead (if there legal in your area)
White spotted pike cichlids
I would stay away from vieja argentea there quite nasty when mature
