Just noticed this how does this happen!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I'm going with the aquatop heater need something asap and know so many people who run this.

I'll get the 300 watt and use my other heater as a backup. If it fails my tank gets to 73 which is fine with me and my fish. If it fails and cooks my fish I guess we're having Central American fish for dinner.

I got mine from amazon. Just head over to Amazon and search for finnex (or via aqua) titanium heaters. And I have these for about 3 years now so I don't know if they would last for 20-30 years (yet) :P.

I'm gonna wait and see what my tank gets down to tomorrow morning. It's at 77 degrees right now which is in my green zone. If it goes down to 74-75 I might just run without one until fall. I have one 150 watt heater right now in it.

I'll order two 300 watt heaters just incase one comes defective

Update: It got down to 74.9 so basically 75 lol with my 150 watt eheim which still works but retired for now. I might fiddle with it and reseal it when I'm bored and test it for a week in a bucket.

I will be ordering two 300 watt heaters now from aquatop. for 34 bucks shipped its a hell of a deal plus so many good reviews on amazon.

I would go titanium but not enough good reviews for me to go off of. I personally think every heater is the same.

I have a tetra walmart 150 watt from like 7 years ago that I still use in my 10 gallon tank. Its literally perfect still.

Kind of upset that my eheim jager is leaking water. I researched and every heater has faults. The worst is some cobalt heater king of DIY used. I see that he replaced them with some eheim ones.

The guarantee is 2 years. i think 10 years on a heater is pretty good. i went for eheim rather than cheap due to a far from large budget

I buy metal heaters. That way you can't see the water inside, which means it isn't there

I mean I have two eheims one got water in. Only reason why I even looked in my sump is because I dropped something in there lol

Aquatop is a good brand no? 2 years for a heater is nothing.

I can buy another eheim its 35$ not going to break the bank vs 16-17$ on an aquatop.

Only thing is finnex can handle only 300 watt my controller I use. Im heating total body of water 250 gallons. 300 watts got me to my desired temps at 78-80 and thats with open tops with canopy present.

Titanium heaters can be used in fresh and salt. Honestly these days I'd be very happy to have a heater last 10 years. I feel like these days they last all of three weeks before crapping out.
Yeah had doubts doing with eheim 250 watt heater most likely. Will do some more research on a well priced reliable titanium heater
