ribbon eels are amazing. good choice! . . . thats why i said .think hard' my current obsession is rays and argentea's (pic on my avatar). but, my all time favourite fish i wouldtake with me on a desert island would be a redtail cat. maybe strike up a relationship with him/her like how tom hanks did with wilson in that film 'castaway'

afully grown adult redtail just laying on the bottom of the tank is a marvelous sight. incould watch itall day.

how are you going to seal and glue the aquarium glass onto the make shift hut? remember, your in a desert island and there are no power tools or silicone sealing or whatever it is on said island. lol
 
Something with tons of personality. RB Pacu or maybe RTC or possibly an Oscar.
 
oscars seems to be a popular choice. and a well deserved one. they are a good companion.
 
RTC, I'll probably be living in a shack if I get one though...
