Having water clarity issues, ordered this today.

Seachem Clarity™ is the ultimate clarifier for both fresh and saltwater. It employs an advanced polymeric flocculating agent that is both reef and plant safe. Clarity™ is the only clarifier on the market that does it all! Clarity™ will clear all types of clouding: bacterial and other biological type blooms, chemical clouding, and particulate clouding (i.e. stirred up gravel bed). When Clarity™ clears up bacterial clouding it helps to accelerate and enhance the colonization of the biological filter by efficiently relocating these natural biofilms to the biosupport media in the filter. Freshwater and Marine. Plant and reef safe.

hope this helps my issues i dun no waht the deal is with my p tank i jsut did a wc and 2 days later kinda foggy, i hope this works i guess we will c any 1 use this product before or recommend anything better?

Time. cloudy water right after a WC generally indicates bacterial cycle.. keep a close eye on your water perameters.. tank size, stocklist, filtration.. can all contribute to this issue. new tank syndrome as it's coined as well. Personally I don't dump stuff in my tank unless it's to de-chlorinate/treat a disease/fertalize plants. So can't help you on a better product to spend money on to fix the problem. ;) watching your water perameters and doing water changes to maintain the best water quality you can ime is the best remedy for a bac colony spike, and finding out what caused it to begin with so it won't happen again.

=P cloudyness directly after a WC usually indicates bac issues.. but if the water tests fine.. =P Pura filterpads as your other thread was suggested. Personally I get "crispy" water just from having a "crap ton" of polishing pads/filter floss. Anything to filter out particles. Chemicals imo are crap.. quick fixes that add more crap to the water. Bump your Mech filtration up and you'll see more of a difference then if you just went to a UV. UV will finish what the Mech starts.. but not the other way around. UV is nice if you worry about disease as well.

Personally i find Seachems Purigen and some really high quality bio rings will do better than any quick fix method, since it is after all just a quick fix and not sorting out the problem...

For example, i have a UV Filter (not sterilizer) on my tank and still find it doesn't sort my problem out completely, but once i got some purigen + high quality bio rings problem solved... crispy water all the time, every time...

Like mentioned above, do some research on Purigen. It's amazing how clear my tanks stay since I started using it. Purigen is a Seachem product so you should find it on their site.

I stay away from flocculants. There is a lot of talk about what it does to the liver of your fish. Yeah, it doesn't kill them right away, but they think it might do more long term damage. Monstermini's got it right. Polishing pads, water changes, and healthy tanks. A UV sterilizer is always a great addition to a tank. Skip the chemicals and try some of these methods first. Your fish will thank you. :)
